CWM stock Kernel

Hello,

I've rooted my phone, installed CM7 on it and everything was fine until I had a USB connector problem. My phone is still under warranty, so if I could just re-install a stock kernel and revert everything to factory default, I could hopefully get a new one. The problem is that I can't flash a stock kernel with Odin since I've got USB connector issues... My phone charges, but is not recognized by Windows. Where can I find a stock kernel that I could flash using CWM ?

My phone was bought 11 months ago from Virgin Mobile Canada (same phone as Bell), so I'm looking for a 2.3 kernel. I'm pretty sure I need a KG2 kernel. I've found what I think I need, but it's a tar file containing a zImage, so it doesn't work with CMW.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Rognon

I'm afraid you will need to install the whole stock firmware, not just the kernel. Factory reset will just give you CM7 with all the data wiped. You will also need to reset your flash counter as well or your warranty will be void.

You will need to sort out your USB connection problems first. Top tip... try a different USB port... you'd be surprised how often that works!

For other Kies connection problems, see Hawker's, excellent, in-depth, troubleshooting, guide, here.
