Hello. I am was wanting kit kat on my s2 a 0nd Cyanmod looks popular. A friend did it but took it off as he got loads of emergency broadcast messages he couldn't stop so got fed up.

Can they be stopped and is the mood any good, especially improving battery?

If you go down the CyanogenMod route, then I strongly suggest only installing the Stable releases as the Nightly's are experimental and can cause problems and are not recommended for daily use. A far better bet, IMHO, would be the latest Android 4.4.3, KitKat, release from NEAT ROM which is out before the S4 & S5 have received it, officially.

I'm just tired of my phone being sooooo slow. I have done the "*#9900# from the dailer with no effect.
