Root Cyanogen Nighlies

So, just curious, what are Cyanogen Nighlies? How are they different from the stable ROMs? Do they have other features, or are they a work in progress? And I heard people saying they just install them over each other. Does this mean that, if I started at nightly 60, I could just flash 61 without having to wipe? So I would in theory never have to wipe? Thanks for all replies!

They are experimental... sometimes they have more features, sometimes less. Sometimes they are more stable, others not so much. They are really for "flash-a-holics". They do install over each other for a while, but you eventually hit a point where you will need to wipe. I personally stick with the stable releases.
