Root Cyanogen Tazz 1.0

I just might have to flash this, Kaos v30 is killing my battery.

16hrs 33mins since unplugged
1hr 58mins talk time
Sent and Received around 50 text message
Received around 25 emails

16% Battery

Cyanogen Tazz 1.0 = WOW. This is impressive, very fast, much faster and smoother than v30 for me. It's close to XTR 4.0.6.1 in terms of speed so far. Now, I just hope the battery life is better than Kaos was. Been off charger for 2 hours, 15 minutes, down to 94% and only checked 1 email.

Ok I just flashed this rom. It wont set up any of my email accounts. I did not see an android market. What am I doing wrong?

DO A FULL WIPE ,, YOU NEED TO RE FLASH GOOGLE APPS, NO THE ROM DOES NOT SUPPORT FLASH ,,NO MARKET WILL NOT BE ON ROM WITHOUT FLASHING APPS
FOR BEST RESULTS, FLASH ROM, THEN APPS , REBOOT ,WAIT A SEC OR TWO
FOR 3G TO CONNECT

IF U GET STUCK AT THE ANDROID SCREEN ,,YOU DID NOT READ,, YOU ONLY WILL GET STUCK AT THE SCREEN IF U DID NOT FLASH GOOGLE APPS LIKE YOU HAVE BEEN TOLD OVER AND OVER !!!

NEW GOOGLE APPS ZIP WITH THE NEW GOOGLE VOICE

I think the caps lock was from him copy/pasting the dev's instructions, which were written in all caps. He wasn't screaming at you.

Thats cool I didn't take it personally. Hence the LOL and the to posts of Thanks ;).
Everyone on this board is extremely helpful.

I've heard the Cyanogen ROMs take the low-low-low CPU settings with ease whereas HTC Sense chokes. Please report back and let us know.

Also, I put in similar ( might be the same as a matter of fact ) advanced settings on my Cyano ROM a while back and it studdered something horrible.

10 hours and at 72% with light-moderate usage (surfing, installed apps, check emails) here and there. So far this is great for me. At least it's not going down on it's own, only when I use it, which I can accept.

Are you guys using live wallpapers etc?
Would that be the biggest drain on the battery?
I haven't downloaded setcpu yet. Are there any settings that I could set up before downloading setcpu?

I am loving this rom. I thought nothing would touch XTR especially a 2.2 rom. It's very fast and battery life has been excellent. (after 26 hours down to 20%). I am not using live wallpapers, while they are cool, it doesn't justify the drain on battery for me.

I do not have setCPU installed on this rom. I did install AutoKiller and have it set to Strict. I have all animations turned off and I'm using LauncherPro.

my experiences with setcpu varied. i did temporarily get a bump in speed, but it usually didn't last and eventually turned laggy. lately with the froyo roms, i haven't been using set cpu or any overclocking. just relying on the internal overclocking the rom is already set to. they are fast enough, especially tazz v1.0

just downloaded autokiller and going to play around with that.

what version of the gapps did you guys install to get voice search to work? Voice search starts up but doesn't fully launch.

edit -- removed voice search via titanium, but when trying to download thru the market "installation unsuccessful"

is there a work around or apk for this?

I'm wondering what the difference is between this and kaos v30. I installed kaos the other day, set the same settings (no wp, strict autokiller, no animations, launcher pro, and low cpu's during screen off) and I'm showing 50% after 30 hours.

I love to try out new ROMs, but is there anything on C. Tazz 1.0 that kaos v30 doesn't have - besides different themes? Very curious. Btw - 2.2 ROMs might be my new home from now on.

Just installed recently -- It looks like GPS is not working?
Can anyone confirm?

I just flashed this as well and holy cow it's like learning a whole new s/ware system, sorta like when Vista came out - everything is the same, yet different.

My weather & GPS were not working, I turned off wifi and tried the nav again and it worked (same w/the weather) - it had told me I needed a data connection. Now they are working w/the wifi on or off. Maybe it just takes the phone a bit to catch up to what's going on w/the new ROM?

So far my contacts and facebook are VERY slowly syncing and the phone doesn't seem as snappy as when I was running xtrsense. Going to play around w/it though.

The only widgets I used on 2.1 were the Calendar (synced w/my google cal) and the animated clock/weather widget

did you flash the google apps package?

also all froyo roms appear to be real laggy at first boot. it is synching all of your previous apps, contacts etc. it takes a while for the first boot/set up to finish. Once its done, look out fast phone time.

Hi,

Yes, I flashed the google apps and went thru the set ups for gmail when I came into the phone and am in the process of reinstalling my apps that I had on 2.1. I had Titanium backup, but wasn't sure if I should use it to restore apps that I had on a 2.1

Besides a widget called Overclock Widget (which I have but have no clue how to work, and don't want to screw it up lol) - it has 2 sliding bars, one for min and one for max - what others can you guys recommend for 2.2?

Thank you.

I really want to like Froyo (I don't know why though, lol). Is there a good 'froyo for virgins guide' someplace.
