Root CyanogenMod 10 Pre-alpha (985hPaKicK kang)

OK first off, I did not build this from source

I took the CM10 ROM made by 985hPaKicK and elamarkant
cm-10-20120901-JellyEidtion-HARD.zip and I made some changes to it

It uses 2nd init
A lot of things do not work like RIL, WiFi, Bluetoothe, etc. etc

So this is for devs who want to try to get it working

I am a pretty busy person, so I can not commit my self to getting you guys/gals a fully working CM10, I will help where I can, as time allows.

I think in the long run we will want to build from source and we should be able to use 985hPaKicK source code to accomplish this.

Some notes

Install with 985hPaKicK 2nd init recovery

DO A BACKUP BEFORE INSTALLING OR FACTORY RESETING

Do a Factory Reset before installing

After you install this ROM, the proper way to get into recovery is to press (hold) the Power Button, choose reboot, choose recovery, click OK

No in fact most CM are below or around 200mb

Okay just finished testing holy crap this is amazing is it going to be way better than the Samsung Galaxy 3 only thing is data also is not working or how do I get data working because I don't like using wifi or use bluetooth

Make sure in the settings data is enabled....Im going to abandon the rom I was working on and have a look at this. Im not promising anything though.

it has to be fixed, usually RIL ad WiFi are a bit harder to get working

as the OP says this pre-alpha, needs fixing, and I can not guarantee that it will be fixed

If we were able to get 985hPaKicK to help, things will go a lot quicker

I sent him a message on XDA, lets see what happens

Im somewhat concerned that we may not be able to get some of these features to work without kernel mods which we unfortunantly cannot do. It may only need mild tweaks, but we cant do it.

jk. but it would be nice if someone would add a picture of at least the home screen. I haven't seen what CM 10 looks like yet.
You'd ask why not install it myself, but I'm going to try the de-odexed ROM and some personal theming. Since CM7, cyan has been my favorite color, so you can kind of guess what kind of theme im looking into. (00FFFF on 000000, if you know what I'm saying) Lol.

Anyways, Thanks again, Cretinoid, you made the forum more lively again. and thanks to you, my battery will be draining much much faster checking the phandroid app every few minutes.
