Root CyanogenMod 10 Pre-alpha (985hPaKicK kang)

I've been wanting to set up a build environment to build CM for my Nook.

I have a 64-bit Linux install ready to go, but really don't know how to get started. My only computer, an i3 laptop, only has about 3.5 gigs of system RAM so not even sure if it's worth attempting.

3.5 gigs should be enough, I have 4 and have never had any problem. When I get my new motion, I will attempt to work on CM.

i flashed this to check it out now i cant get back into recovery:mad: if i hold down the power button and do it that way i get morning call error, if i use the 2nd init app i just get a black screen. anyone care to offer any advice? im in florida at my inlaws. so i cant do a unbrick until i go home tomorrow any help please.

Issues noticed with the alpha, besides the faulty Bluetooth and the loss of data transfer.

The battery drains at an insane rate (even taking into the consideration that we don't have the radio active), dead spots on the screen randomly appear after closing an app, screen jumps in brightness when rebooting the phone, recovery tends to vanish completely, morning call if just about any app is installed.
Last but not least, trapped in emergency mode which won't respond, completely nuked my brand new back up motion. If someone is going to work on this, please do so at their own caution. Deleted the package until someone has the courage to work on it.

Did you clear cache and factory reset. I have flashed And booted this rom about seven times since I started working on it And no recovery issues

im in agreement with this guy. I have had no problems getting into the recovery after flashing. I just factory reset, cleared cache, wiped dalvik, before and after flashing the cm10 alpha.

For the most part, for me atleast, the rom has been very stable considering its a dirty port, with the exception of BT, and data/wifi not working.

tried the unbrick guide im in eternal boot loop now i have no idea what to do. i tried to factory reset but i just keep going into download mode. anyone know how i can reset this thing i dont wanna loose my motion:mad::(:(:mad:

Did you use the lgms770c or lgms770d to recover? I had the same issue on my everyday use motion and couldnt use the update kdz for firmware reset. I had to drop back to the 770c firmware and then upgrade to get my baby back.
This is sorta what I meant by recovery vanishing, you cant access the 2nd init recovery through the hardware keys, so your recovery becomes moot if you hit a brick.

i never upgraded to d. it seems that you should be on version d if you want to play with this cm10. thats just a heads up. Im good now. Thanks for the help bud! {godsend}

Im guessing this wont be the case, but i was wondering if the hidden menus or any alternate, similar menus are on the cm10 ROM. Would these be any help in either locating of helping solve the data/wifi problems?

Is there anything in these hidden menus that should under no circumstances be altered? Im a little unfamiliar with some of the items in the service menu, and i would prefer to not completely ruin my phone.
