**Known Bugs** **Bugs fixed in second download, but you lose overclock.**

1. The screen doesn't power down totally when the Power button is pressed, it dims. You must press the Power button, then when the screen is

Thanks again, installed and everything went fine. I do not need 3g coverage, so I avoided installing the patch. I do have a question about OTA update: I got an update notification, is that safe to install?

The google play store just stopped working randomly and when i open it it immediately closes. I've tried installing other versions but nothing works please help.

I am trying to do this and my phone is stuck at the at&t window. You said it will take awhile for the phone to boot up, but how long? Do I need to take the battery out and turn the phone on again. Sorry I am a newbie at this.

Thanks

I'm a total newbie at this stuff. Is Cm 10 better than the 7? What happened to Fusion2.org?? Will I be able to screenshot after rooting? What is Overclock and Is there such thing as a "Unroot"? Sorry for sounding like a noob..

CM 7 - Gingerbread
CM 9 - Ice Cream Sandwich
CM 10 - Jelly Bean 4.1
CM 10.1 - Jelly Bean 4.2

Fusion2.org is suffering because apparently no one wants to take my offer of paying for a server, they'd rather use cheap hosts who don't care about losing your stuff.

Yes, you will be able to screenshot after rooting.

Overclocking - "Overclocking is resetting some computer component so that it runs faster than the manufacturer-specified speed. The purpose of overclocking is to boost performance."

You can unroot by just flashing an unrooted ROM.

as you can see by my username, i am new at all of this. i downloaded ROMmanager from play store. installed on my U8665. i know this phone is rooted, b/c superuser pops up asking for permissions when i install stuff. i just want the root removed so i can take the phone back to stock, OR i would like to get it functional and have a home screen. i see from your post i can unroot it by flashing an unrooted ROM. or, i don't know if it would be easier/better to install a custom ROM since it's already rooted? i got this phone from someone with the intention of giving it to my daughter to use to download apps for school. however, she is having difficulty using it. there is no home screen. i have no access to the phone's settings b/c of this. i can navigate to some areas such as play store, facebook, etc. i have already done a hard reset by holding volume up & power and doing a restore and wiping. but that did not fix anything. could someone please provide a link and step by step instructions on how to flash an unrooted ROM or how to flash a stable ROM with the root. i just don't have the knowledge or the resources to know where to start. any help you can offer would be GREATLY appreciated.

Ouch, no home screen? I would flash CM7 first. That way if you want to move up, you can do the IEMI fix before you do.

You want to look where it says this:

Gingerbread ROMs
CyanogenMod 7.2 (2.3.7)
Download | gApps

Plug it into your computer and stick the two files in there. They should both be zipped up.

And then you want to boot into the recovery and apply both.

okay, i think i can do this...where would i find the cymod 7.2? but, i can NOT for the life of me get this phone to boot into clockwork mod recovery...any suggestions? this device is not listed within the app. when i click on boot into recovery, it just goes into the standard recovery on this phone without allowing me to make any changes to advanced settings...

Right, if it's already rooted, you just want to fastboot clockworkmod. We are not *officially* supported. So you'll have to use one of our builds.

Here are the CM ROMs and Gapps:

And then here are the CWM recovery tools:

And here is the guide (I can't find it here ):

Thanks! Also, Which CM would you recommend? Will all my stuff be deleted if I do this rooting/installing stuff? Should I put all my files in my phone on my Laptop? Will my Phone have a better MP camera? What are the risks of this rooting/installing stuff? If I do something wrong, will my phone be forever broken? Is this easy to do? Is it possible to Install again? Example, I installed CM 7 but then I want to have CM 10 instead. Is this possible? How do I fix the Lock bug and the 3G things? Sorry for asking too many questions.. Thanks again!:)

I would recommend CM10.1. I have been using it for maybe two months now with no issues.

Yes, EVERYTHING will be erased after you root. So put your files in your laptop before starting. :)

No, your camera will still be 1.3MP. The camera app that comes with CM is much better though. And actually, I'm using the 4.3 camera, and using the volume keys to take a shot is very nice. Shots are more stabilized.

There's not really a risk in rooting and flashing stuff unless you use the wrong files. But make sure you do the IMEI fix correctly, otherwise your phone won't be traceable like ever if you decide to install a program to do that. You also risk someone coming up to you demanding to have their phone back... And yes, I'm being dead serious about that, hahaha. Someone got their Fusion stolen with the wrong IMEI info and someone put another SIM in it.

And yeah, you'll be able to move from CM9 to 10.1 easily. It's just a wipe of the system partition mostly. The lock bug isn't an issue on those ROMs.

And no problem!

Is there any way I could access the fix for the IMEI? The site is down, and I really would like to be able to use my phone. I already have Cyanogenmod 10.1 installed, but I have no service because the IMEI is 0. :(
