Root CyanogenMod 9 [Beta]

Today I switched from AOKP to cm9 and I don't see switching back. For those of you that haven't tried either of these in a while its time to give them another shot.

Great stuff for those of us still using the X exclusively.

I was thinking about trying out AOKP this weekend. What do you like more about CM9 over AOKP? I'll probably still give it a whirl bit wouldn't mind hearing what you think.
 
Even though cm9 has less customization it seems to run smoother than AOKP and programs (hulu, duke nukem) will load and run beautifully on cm9 while google store won't let me download them claiming device incompatibility with AOKP.

Either way you can't go wrong ;)

Once the bluetooth, panoramic camera and video recorder are fixed I'll be a happy camper.

Bluetooth?? It works fine for me...
 
Is this the newest and most stable ICS Rom? I'm looking for a new daily ICS rom with working wifi, camera, GPS, and other main functions. I don't need bluetooth or anything like that.
 
I'm bored with Gingerbread and jealous of the ICS phone I just got my wife, so I'm ready to look at something else.

Sometimes, I think, people put custom ROMs on just because they can without caring what breaks. It seems like everyone is so excited with this stuff, they forget that most people just want their phone to work and make no mention of all the stuff that breaks.

So what exactly is broken in this CM9? The droidforums link in the first post says camera, youtube (HQ), flash among other things don't work. Those are some pretty big things to not have working. Looks like maybe, subsequently, the camera was fixed, but video recording still doesn't work?

Is it more stable/fewer bugs than MUIU?

I don't want to go through what it'll take to load on a custom ROM just to find out that my GPS doesn't work or I can't take videos or my camera doesn't work, etc.
 
Think I will flash this in the near future, the only thing not working I would like is Netflix and honestly I rarely use it on my phone.
 
I've been on this for just over a week. It's the only ICS ROM that gives me a decent battery life. I get 7 to 10 hrs with the others and get 13 to 14 hrs with this one. Barcode scanner doesn't work, but I haven't looked for a fix yet. Other than that, a great ROM, especially for a beta!
 
Been running it for about 3 weeks, and don't plan on switching to anything else until I get a new phone. :D
