CyanogenMod question

before installing cyanogenmod and superbricking my phone, i just want to make sure that this doesn't apply to me:

"Some second-generation Samsung Exynos devices are potentially susceptible to a "superbrick" caused by performing a factory reset with the stock kernel, which effectively kills the internal memory in the device. It is highly recommended you do not perform this operation while using a stock kernel for safety reasons. The install guide assumes the device is already running stock Android 4.x.

How do I know if I am safe?

Just don't do a factory reset with the stock kernel. Install another kernel and you should be safe. I'm running CM9.1. I got the kernel here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1592228
