Cyanogenmod updates

So I'm having a bit of confusion.
I got a notification for new cyanogenmod updates.
There are 3 of them.
they are all layed out like
cm-11-20140308- snapshot-...
and each one of them has different numbers.

Are these CM 11 updates, or what are they, and why is there 3 of them?
And if these are really CM 11 updates, how come cm11 doesn't show up as a stable update when I look up the cyanogenmod roms for my galaxy nexus on the internet? The newest one I can find on the internet on the cyanogenmod website is 10.2.1.
so can anyone explain this?

These are called "nightly" builds. Theyre experimental builds of the rom that are usually updated every day.
They arent stable or fully tested so if youre gonna flash one, make a nandroid backup first.
The numbers are in american date format so 20140308 means it was built on 8th of march 2014

EDIT sorry snapshots are very stable. More stable than nightlies but still make a nandroid before flashing one.
To Cyanogen, "stable" means that its completely perfect so as far as i know there are no "stable" builds of cm11 yet. But snapshots are pretty stable (hope that makes sense lol) :D

yeah, what funky said. the hierarchy of stability in a rom is stable, release candidate, snapshot, then nightly. i think. :)

i'm not sure many devices have a stable kit kat rom. i have cm10.2 going on my gnex though i do have an 11 snapshot going on another device.
