Root D1 problems, all help is appreciated

Hi, as of now, my Droid 1 is updated to Android 2.2.1 FRG83D. Prior to this, I had my phone on FRG01B rooted with my CPU overclocked to 1.1 GHz. However with this update, my SetCPU reads 550 MHz and ROOT applications do not work anymore saying that my phone is not rooted. However, SU Permissions still shows up in my app drawer but it won't open. To make things more complicated, when trying to restart my phone in recovery mode (Power button + X) I get to the triangle screen but when I press volume up + camera button nothing happens...so I usually take my battery out and restart my phone. To add to this mess, ROM Manager will not let me install any roms from my SD card saying "An error occurred while attempting to run privileged commands".

I wanna get my root back, with my overlocked CPU and rooted applications, I really do not care for which version of FroYo I have, I just wanna get my root on again.

Any help is greatly greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

Ah, so what's the easiest way to root my phone again? Also, are the problems associated with ROM manager due to the new update as well?

to reroot, look at the sticky at the top of this forum or search for the 3 methods The_Chief listed or just see the 2-3 methods listed right on the splash page of this forum just below your post :)

FRG83D was a minor update, no issues should be had with ROM Manager
