Help D802 bootloop

Hi :)
My G2(D802) got dropped the other day into some food causing the headphone jack to fail, so i bought a replacement flex from a reputable seller and fitted it(I work as a phone repair tech so nothing out of the ordinary, really simple repair actually)

the part fitted well and when trying to boot nothing happened, so i tried my original part and that got the LG boot logo which leads me to believe the replacement was just a dud... fair enough it happens sometimes.
but now my phone will not boot at all, it starts the boot animation and then reboots.

I cannot load recovery at all, but i can start download mode, but then after a second that reboots also which leads me to believe this issue is power related in some way due to the fact it is after so many seconds everytime no matter what is pressed.

has anyone come across this or know any fix before i concede and get LG to swap out the mainboard or buy a new phone?

Thanks

If you can't stay in download mode for more than a second, I believe something occurred during the teardown/reassembly procedure that is affecting hardware. I'd take it back apart and make sure nothing is making contact anywhere it shouldn't be, all ribbon cables are triple checked for tightness etc.

Yes, and don't look just at the replacement part. Make sure no food is bridging traces. Enough of a parasitic load/short could exist to keep some important lines from going to their proper logic states, and the unit's CPU or gate arrays could be initiating a reset as a result.
