Hey Guys I wanted to know is there anyway to move the dalvik cache without using a2sd...bcuz i use link2sd because it more easier to use without all the problems....Please help me out thanks alot...

I too am wondering how to do this. When I select Dalvik Cache on /cache using a2sd and then click Move and rebuild, it tells me that there is not enough room even though I have ~121MB of free space on the internal storage.

Your cache is different. I think its about 98 Mb. When you partition your sd card, you can select the size of your EXT, so i suggest making it upwards of 200 Mb and moving your Dalvik onto the EXT rather than the cache.

I did and I'm amazed at how snappy my phone feels. Plus, When I looked at my internal memory, it jumped from 121MB free to around 160MB free. Thing is, ever since I power cycled my phone, I keep getting an error message saying "Google Talk authentication failed" and when I try to download apps from the market, it says that an error occurred but won't tell me what error. I've tried everything to try and fix this including booting into recovery and manually mounting the sd card and sdext then rebooting the phone but it doesn't help.

I suggest making a backup on cwm before doing this. I'm sure you already have a few backups, but better safe then sorruy.

This happened to me as well a while back. If i remember correctly, I moved all my data from my sd card to my computer, did a fresh install of shabbymod, and flashed hroark's kernal(i always spell his user name differently lol). I then partitioned my sd card, set my EXT, ignored the option after selecting your EXT(I chose 0 Mb for the selection after EXT, they say unless you had a high-class sd card, its not very efficient), and then moved all my files back from the computer to my sd card. Then, open up a2sd and try to move your apps to the EXT(as well as your dalvik). Also, I noticed if its not installed properly, the System Info portion of a2sd will not show you any of the memorys on your phone.

This is the best i can tell you, it's been a while since i had to put a2sd on my card. I'm sure you have it, but just remember to have init.d support on your card. I hope this helps and let me know what happens.

I just started from scratch using odin and I'm going to leave a2sd alone. Seems like too much trouble for me. I'm just going to stick with link2sd since I'm well versed on the ins and outs of it. Thanks for the help though.
