Damageless ROM 2.0

Facebook is still syncing after 3 hours (contact pics are finally starting to appear), so my phone remains in continuous sync and running hot. I'm hoping that your method will work once it completes the sync. Wireless tether is missing, so I will have to reinstall and see how that goes.

The Google sign in issue is resolved, and Wi-Fi is back in r3. VVM and multitouch maps work, multitouch Sense only works in landscape, which is fine by me. I have the HTC Clock widget that's been MIA for so many, but I'm missing several other HTC widgets like Music Player, Photo Frame, People, and about 3 or 4 of the system settings.

Market apps are hidden. The following procedure from post #2 of the RegawMOD v2.0 thread at XDA restored them for me:

1. Make a nandroid backup (with ext if using app2sd)
2. Wipe everything and flash DamageControl v1.0
3. Logon to google skip other setup and download Google Goggles from Market
4. adb this command "adb shell am start -a 786 -f 0x10000000 -n com.google.android.epst/.EPST" press menu>reset and enter MSL let it reboot, it will boot into recovery, once it is done wiping, reboot back into DC1.0, Power off.
5. Boot to Recovery, Restore nandroid backup from RegawMOD v1.3 (Edit: I restored to DC2.0r3 instead), go into market search, select downloads and redownload Goggles.

It took a couple of reboots, was being prompted for Google password on 1st boot and then had to do the wireless setup and re-provision VVM but everything works fine.

So I now have working Wi-Fi, VVM and full market access. I'll Google Wireless Tether and the missing HTC widgets, or if someone can please link me to them, I *may* have a fully functional 2.1 ROM. TIA, fingers crossed.
 
Looks like another update will be released in an hour or so. Damages kind slipped in that it's based on a later RC of the Sprint rom. According to him, all issue will be fixed. Here is a list of things he is reporting as fixed.

* Syncing issues fixed
* Fixed apps2sd script so no boot problems
* Protected apps now working
* Trackball light working
* memkill settings tweaked even more for better performance

I'm sure there is more. Will report more later.

For the missing widgets, go into settings>applications>manage applications>htc Sense and clear data. Reboot and the widgets should return.

Uh oh. Ran your suggestion and rebooted, and all the HTC widgets have gone bye bye. Hmmm.

I'm pondering re-flashing r3 without a wipe or just waiting out r4 (maybe both?).

This is strange. I've nand restored to a point before I cleared the Sense app data and rebooted, but all the Sense widgets are still gone. What's up with that? Do I have to wipe and re-flash to recover them?

Settings>About phone>Software information>scroll down to 2nd from bottom.

Edit: Oops, sorry, that is for 2.1 menus. Sorry, been awhile since I checked in 1.5, but it would be a somewhat similar sequence.
 
DC v2.05 is up. reports are looking like the thing is as close to perfect as we're going to get. I'm flashing now, and about to reboot...if I'm still awake, I'll report back once I get everything set back up (in 2 or 3 days :p)

Everything I've tried works right the first time, plus this ROM is way fast and silky smooth. This version is worth any and all wait or any frustration encountered. Damageless really delivered on this one. Awesome ROM.

I had a stock phone. Rooted.. and flashed a recovery img. then put this rom (the noapps2sd version) on my sdcard. booted to the rocovery. wipe/factory default. then flashed this rom. never got the HTC clock/weather widget. I read that if that happens to wipe and re-flash did that 3 times and same results everytime. loved the ROM tried to install the HTC battery widget and it gave me an error "wrong update version". Also noticed that there were no "Live Wallapapers". are we not getting that? ended up using 1.56 RUU and going back to stock.. Anyone have any advice?
 
I want to try this ROM. I am running Fresh 1.1 If I make a backup with Titanium, can I just restore it after loading this or do I have to start over reloading all of my programs and settings.

Titanium only backs up your apps (plus your data if you have Pro). You have to wipe before going from 1.5 to 2.1, and that will zap all your apps. Once you've rebooted into 2.1, reinstall Titanium from the market, open it up and start reinstalling your apps.

Everything I want does. Friendstream is missing, and I didn't try the news & weather widget mentioned above. The HTC photoframe widget didn't work for me, but the standard Android one does. Hidden market apps work again, but someone at XDA said they couldn't get Fandango.
 
Anyone know if you are going from r2 to the most current if you will need a wipe or can just flash over the top?

I tried it without a wipe. At the time, I was having problems with having lost all the HTC Sense widgets. Flashing over the top did not restore the widgets, but wiping and flashing again fixed everything.

First glitch: Swype doesn't like this ROM. Installer does its thing, then says it was already installed and FCs without sending you to the keyboard menu to enable it. After you manually enable and try using it, it says it's for different hardware and cripples itself back to basic keyboard functions with no swiping features.
 
I cannot find Neomusic in the app store with the new verision 2.05, i tried to search for a link to download it so i can install it on my phone as the barcode scanner will not locate this. Does anyone have a download link for this? I miss this alot.
 
Does mms send work for u guys? I keep getting a general network error.

And does your keyboard lag really bad in the browser?
 
I also noticed that some HTC widgets weren't there. I rebooted and they came back. I loaded the calendar widget on my screen then I rebooted to try and get the FB sync to work and my calendar isn't there anymore nor is it in the widgets. What gives?
