damn... Epic JUST got an update

based on the timing, they must have had this fix in testing before the release date. There is nothing listed that corresponds with our phone that i saw.

Actually, it looks like this is a pretty boring update... unless you're looking forward to Media Hub.

Yeah, I don't know what this is all about, but their twitter support still says this month for Cappy GPS fix.

Hi Ray, I don't have an exact date but we're committed to providing this update in September. I appreciate your patience. ^Leah
I had asked:

Any more timeline on the GPS fix? Can AT&T customers expect to see an OTA update sometime in September?
So I'm willing to give them their time to get this right.

Wow, you actually get a response? I seem to be getting ignored. Maybe because my tweets are along the lines of, "What the f@#k! Where's the damn update for my Captivate?!"

Yeah, they've always said September, so they still have a couple weeks left.

By the way, does anyone remember the rumor about Vibrant getting a GPS fix update on the 18th? I wonder if it will happen or not.

An update rolling out on a Saturday sounds odd to me.

Yeah, that changelog's nothing to shout about. At this point, I think I'd be happier waiting for the update if it came along w/Froyo...

Froyo in Sept announcements were from Euro Samsung, which means i9000, iirc. We're going to be lucky if we get it before the end of the year, I think.

By the way, JH7 firmware has a setting for Update via KIES, which wasn't there before, which makes me believe it won't be OTA update, but who knows.

That would be awesome. If iPhone isn't restricted to OTA updates, then other phones shouldn't as well (at least through at&t).

Actually, I would prefer the OTA or better yet, the option for either one. I am using Macs and Linux, and can't get KIES to work at all in a virtual machine or emulator (WINE), and so OTA or unix-friendly software are my only options...
