Help Damsel in distress!

Hi all,

I'm hoping u wonderful, knowledgeable folks can help me please. I have a HTC Desire HD and it is having problems connecting to my home wifi. I have had it for a couple of months and it's had no real issues and has always connected fine but today it has thrown a strop and won't connect. My laptop and hubbie's desire (narf, narf :D ) are connecting ok and the router is working so I'm a tad confuzzled.

I have turned it off and on, deleted the connection and re-set it back up and run a de-bug and still nada.

If anyone can help I would be most grateful.

Thanks

xx

What's your WiFi sleep policy set to? Are you getting any error messages?

Thanks for answering El Presidente. :)
Wifi sleep is set to never and no error messages come up, it just keeps saying its trying to connect then gives up and goes off to make a cup of tea or something lol!

Have you tried restarting the router and connecting WiFi devices one by one

My old homehub would drop connection to my laptop but never the tower pc

Replaced.hub never had a problem thus far

Yup... it recognises and connects to everything except my phone annoyingly.

You seem reasonably savvy, have you checked the router to see if it is registering the phone trying to connect to it?

I can't remember the IP address for the router and am not entirely sure how to find it. Its a BT Home Hub if that's any help?

I don't know if its relevant but apparently BT have released an update recently so I'm wondering if that might have something to do with it?

Type 192.168.1.254 into your browser, that should take you to the config page of your homehub. I can't tell you were to go from here because I'm in work and don't have access to mine, sorry. If you click about, there should be a page which shows you all the devices that are connected to your hub.

I'm sorry for being a bit vague about that one, if I was at home, I could tell you exactly where to click :o

I has Wifi!! :D:D:D

I pushed a pin in the router's re-set hole, turned my phone off and left it while the router re-booted then turned it back on and voila- wifi connection **smug face** :p

Thanks for the replies guys and El Presidente especially for the suggestions and for helping me instead of working heh

my homehub 2 wont connect to my DHD i've reset it, rebooted it, rebooted my phone many times,

Has it ever connected or is it a new device?

Yeah it was working fine on Friday, I went to visit my Dad over the weekend and came back and it wouldn't connect just show Page can not be loaded on Firefox on the DHD.

My Desire and Desire Z connect fine to the same hub.

Try resetting the hub...
