yes. i was on the Palomides server. played from closed beta, and quit shortly after ToA.

if you wish to get your DAoC fix, you can play on the Uthgard free server.

i have a couple of 50s on the Mid side. but i don't have the time to play anymore.

we didn't use the VN Boards forums as we had someone that hosted our own. our server's community is still going strong after all these years and many of us(from all 3 realms) have played together in other games(WoW, Guild Wars, Warhammer, etc...).

p.s. - Ultima Online was the best MMORPG until the carebears ruined it.

Ultima Online was great and all, but personally, I say Everquest was the best... until it got ruined (kind of a pattern isn't it?).
 
I thought about DAoC because I came across a really old trailer for the first original game. So much nostalgia! Many, many memories have come from that game... vast majority of them good. :) I wish that it didn't go downhill with the ToA expansion that basically made SI expansion obsolete because if you weren't ToA'd then you were much worse than someone who was.

I wish they would make like DAoC 2 and bring back the epic RvR battles that is nonexistent in other games. The PVP in DAoC was also top notch.
 
A MMORPG that works very alarming bug-free. It is also worrying dependency, so you can level your character strong against AI monsters until you are ready to go in the external borders and the human face of the enemies of your kingdom chosen.

Everquest was a carebear's wet dream.

he said DAoC, a PvP/RvR MMORPG. i responded in kind with another PvP MMORPG. EQ was just about killing AI monsters.

UO was as close to a sandbox MMORPG as you could get. you could pretty much do anything in that game. create a town? sure. just go kill monsters? sure. murder people? sure. hunt for murderers? sure. and so on and so forth...it was truely another world you could live in.

they did make DAoC2, but it was called Warhammer Online. and it failed miserably.

you really should try Uthgard. it is non-TOA and has a pretty decent server population.

I played WAR but never felt the DAoC feeling. There were perhaps small moments of it but it was still never really a sequel to DAoC. The music for DAoC was also great.
 
I played DAoC for about 6 months. I've tried a few MMOs, and I just don't have the patience/attention span for them. Played DAoC, Eve Online, and Requiem: Bloodymare. At least Requiem was free to play! DOaC was good, I just can't get into that style of game I guess. On the plus side, I guess they use old account names that expired to name NPCs, because a friend of mine who played DAoC for a long time ran across an NPC with my old characters name, Bartron. I can has famus?
 
I used to play DAoC. I have friends that probably still play. I personally prefer a different style of game but it was my first MMO and will always be a favorite.

We started out on Guinevere and eventually spread out to try other realms on Percival and Nimue so when they clustered servers we had all sides of the RP cluster covered.

Good times...
 
I was with Ice Dragons on Lancelot server, but my first 50 ever was a Hib Enchantress on Guinevere. I remember going through Galladoria for the first time. Memories memories!
