Root Das bamf 3.0 rc4, rc5?

So, since I'm getting tired of waiting for Verizon to pull their heads out of their collective arses, and get gingerbread out there, I've been thinking about flashing from Froyo to gingerbread. I've been doing as much reading as I can, and researching, but I'm still not sure exactly what I want. I'm kind of leaning towards DAS BAMF, but the only threads I've found are concerning 3.0, RC4. I found a version of 3.0 RC5, that I downloaded, and saved to my computer, but haven't found any feedback concerning it. Any ideas? I want to make sure that the next ROM i flash is going to be the last, for a while. I'm already rooted, and running the imoseyon kernel. Any advice, or suggestions from anyone, I'd really appreciate it.

Rc4.9 is the latest. There was a pre rc5 that actually came out before 4.9.
There is a thread here linking to 4.9

for what its worth, teamAndIRC tweeted our update was in the 2nd stage of testing at htc. i dont know if that meant another 2 weeks or 2 months, but eventually all the GB roms we have are going to be that much sweeter once the offical OTA is leaked :)

if you want to try something in the mean time, bamf 2.1 may be lil more stable since it uses our sense 2.1. the 3.0 runs great and most folks like it alot, but because of the complexity of the sense 3.0 port may not be as daily driveable to some people. same with synergy nightlys. ive read nothin but good stuff, but its not a 100% finished final edition.

if youre not a fan of sense, try cm7 or OMFGB for a pleasant AOSP experience :)

After spending an hour or two, looking around, I went with DAS BAMF 4.9, with the MR2.75. the install for both went fine, and the phone seems to be good so far. However, I did run into an issue...before I flashed, I backed up all my apps with TI, but now that I'm on GB, TI won't find my apps. am I going to have to reload them all by hand, or am I doing something wrong?

I had some oddities with TI as well...I think I may have missed some sort of automated backup setting and ended up with some bloat that I did not mean to back up, so I reflashed and rebuilt by hand. For me, the automation is not as important as getting it how I want it, so I am going with less automation next time.

you will have to download titanium free and prokey from the market. open titanium and run a batch install(i usually pick missing apps+data). titanium will not magically download itself and restore apps without interaction from you after the new rom installs.

sorry if this is obvious, but seems to be some confusion over it lately.

otherwise,a couple things come to mind:

-is the phone seeing your SD card?(not just in tibu, anywhere)
-try clicking the problems box in the right, lower corner in titanium

nope, I'm tracking. I did redownload TI and TI prokey, but for some reason, TI isn't seeing my SD card. I can access it via the apk manager, without a problem, and I m unplugged from the computer. I'm going to try a reboot, and see if that works.

EDIT:
after the reboot, TI was able to find the SD card, and I'm in the process of restoring my apps...I went ahead and deselected the system apps, so the only ones I'm restoring now are my market apps that I downloaded.

Oh, and I have netflix, courtesy of DAS BAMF! SWEEEEEEETTTT!!!!! Work will be at a standstill now, lol

Ok, another update here...everything seems to be working ok, but for some reason, I'm getting a Gapps forceclose report, at random. it doesn't seem to be affecting anything...i can still get into market, my email, etc, but just randomly, it pops up on the screen...I took a quick screenshot, to see if anyone has any ideas of whats going on. maybe I just need to reflash the rom?

how often is that happening? i used to get it on occasion, but not enuff to worry about with the GB leak roms. seems whatever that is,exactly, starts right back up as it never seemed to affect anything on my phone.

if youre getting it alot,it may be worth a wipe and reflash. id double check the md5 of the download youre using and make sure its intact and unmolested.

also, make sure youre not restoring any system data with TiBu... only restore apps+app data

It was happening every few seconds to me, to the point where I couldn't do anything without it popping up.

Update again. I went ahead and swithed Roms, went from rc4.9 to 5, and that seems to have cleared up the force close. Everything seems to be running smooth, and I restored again with ti. I did do it a bit differently, and that may have been the difference. I do have a question on the lock screen maybe someone here might know.

Here's a screenshot of what I have.

What I'm wondering is if there's any way to replace the mail and messaging icons with gmail and handcent?

yes. settings/personalize/lockscreen/settings, IIRC.

you can put whatever apps you want in those 4 spots :)

Got it...the problem I had was I'm running go launcher, so I had to go back to sense launcher, in order to make the changes, and then switch back to go launcher. Sorry, I did search, but I didn't find the answer until after I'd searched more after I posted this. Sometimes its kind of hard to find specifics, especially wading through everything in Google search. Thanks though!
