Help data and photos

I have a galaxy s i897 and use wifi and have no data package. what I want to know is when someone sends me a text with a picture attached it just keeps saying downloading and I never see the picture. now my wife has an old razr flip phone with no data package but when she gets a text with a picture she can see it. do I need to make some different settings or what.

Some devices are able to receive mms over WiFi while some aren't.

When I had my captivate about 2 years ago, this was something I was never able to accomplish though

When I take photos w/Samsung Captivate, the photo will fill the screen. Yet when I review the pic, it appears more compact and is sometimes upside-down. If I
Cc myself on a photo that's full screen landscape, when I open it, it's as if a portrait-size photo is stuck in a landscape-size frame. My orientation box is "checked."
