Help Data connection dropping, have full signal

I have rhapsody unlimited on my Dinc and I am in the process of downloading christmas songs and my data connection keeps crapping out when I have full signal. I am getting ticked. I have 4 bars of signal and the arrows and going both directions under the 3G Icon, then out of nowhere they vanish and my connection is lost. It has done this 7 times in the last 3 hours. I have to reboot my phone to get it going again. Any ideas. Bout to throw this phone out the window.

Are you rooted? Just using stock froyo non root?

Is this happening when receiving a txt msg or a phone call? A sms text will kick off 3G as will a phone call.
