Help data drain

I upgraded to the official ics from Samsung. Since then my phone has used 8gb of data. Yes, GB. It says android os alone is doing it. I turned off the sync and android backup but it still shows it has used 7 gb of background data this week alone. I use data so disabling it is bad.what is draining all this data from the OS? Please help!!!

I would start by rebooting the phone. Something could be stuck on and a reboot would help. I would next look at any apps you have running and see how much data they use. As a last resort I would do a factory reset.

Agree with wolfy. Reboot. Then, if that doesn't work, uninstall all your apps, then reinstall one by one. If that fails, do a factory reset.

I've rebooted many times. It isn't any other apps. They all show up and each has used less than 200 mb in the same time the OS has used 7GB. I may have to do the reset but I want that to be a last resort.
