Help Data Enabled?

I have an LG Volt. When I swipe down I see like a quick menu. What is the "Data" button for?

I have an unlimited plan so do I need this off or on? I am usually on WiFi. Do I need it on when I am away from home?

It just toggles cellular data on/off. Since you have unlimited I'd just keep it on. When you're connected to wifi it automatically disables cellular data

Turning off data can save the battery, so if you're low on power and wont be able to charge it for a while you can disable it.

But normally you can just leave it on as funkylogik recommended
