Data Plan Promotional Discount?

Awesome. And the best way to get it is to tell the loyalty department that my bill is too much and I heard about a data promotion?

I emailed customer support and they called me to confirm. Here's what I ended up with.

Please Know: My dad currently has the 1400 min & unlimited txt plan for the 4 lines on his account. I have and X2 and he has my old X.

We have the 20% Corp discount that they moved on to my sister's non smartphone #, the $9.99 discount for my data, and the $9.99 discount for my Dads data.

Be very careful about promotions. They are generally an evil trick to get you off a grandfathered plan. Unlimited data will soon be a grandfathered plan if the tiered news is correct.

But isn't it still the same plan? The 9.99 discount is added vs a 20.00 plan for 12 months.

It's just a simple promotion in which you have the option of changing if it is beneficial to you. It's mainly designed to combat Sprint and TMobile's plans. Typically, if you have a grandfathered plan, you would be paying less than what the discount offers anyways... and if not, then why keep an overinflated old plan?
