Hi all,

This is my first post so apologies if it's in the wrong place! :rolleyes:

A quick summary of my issue:

Basically I encrypted my HTC One the other week, and yesterday and I had to reboot the device, but I could not remember what my encryption password was and after various attempts the phone decided to reset itself and now I have lost all my files! I not bothered about contacts, text messages etc., but I am annoyed as I have important pics that have now disappeared?!

I have read on various sites and done a lot of searches on the subject on recovering files; some folks say you can't and all is lost whereas others say you might as the encryption does not affect the SD card in the phone!?

Is there any way I can recover my pics, I have tried downloading various recovery tools, but all of them cannot see my phone as Win7 does not assign it a drive letter!?! :confused:

Please help!

are the pics on an internal SDCARD or external?

if internal there may not be much you can do except start a backup plan and keep it in force.

If external remove the card from the phone and try to do a recovery then.

not going to be anything you can really do as the computer wont pic it up and give you a drive letter. If the phone is rooted you may be able to use Undelete.
Just make sure to not do a lot of reading and writing to the drive as it will erase as it goes
