Root data shuts off during wifi tether

I am on rooted dx this happened on stock rom and on liberty. it usually picks back up once i wake up my phone and unlock. I dont know what the deal is. Sometimes this happens with the screen on. please help. This really messes up my xbox live experience. I installed the data throttle hack and it helps with my speed when im connected. Any ideas?

Do you have your X set up to drop down in cpu speed when idle? If you do, then try bumping up the minimum speed during tethering sessions.

Go into the settings for wireless tether and uncheck the box for 'disable wake lock' that way your phone will stay awake at all times while tethering. I was having the same exact problem a while back but that solved my issue... you still may lose your connection from time to time due to the fact that Verizon doesn't always have the best latency but hey its free internet.. hope this helps man =]
