Help Data speed extremely slow

i know i should have asked about this in the 3G thread....but no one seems to be responding to that anymore :) sorry for it.
i live in southern MD, usual speeds which i used to get was 100-300kb download. so one day i decided to use some tricks to increase speeds. I did make a nandroid backup before. upgraded PRL to a few sprint ones. first one worked GREAT for 1 day then it slowed down. tried more PRLs but they all sucked.....upgraded PRL to get stock back but that is not also very slow....speeds which i am getting now is 5-40kb download :(

tried the V6 supercharger and 3G supercharger.....EDVO 4GV thing.....but nothing is helping now...speed is not more than few kb/sec......even whatsapp is slow now. restored to nandroid backup (pre PRL, V6, 3G supercharger)....tried stock PRL even sprint PRL....speed is extremely slow....saw a thread to delete throttle folder..even did that...lol.....no effect....

i guess boost people know now what i did...and now they are punishing me......lol.....

any ideas...thanks in advance.
 
Have you gone to a different location and tried a different tower? Some days I have the same issue. One day I'll be getting between 1000kbps to 1500kbps, and the next I'll be lucky to get 50kbps. I think it's just Sprint's lousy network. I'm using the Boost PRL as my phone is not rooted.
 
I don't have an ultra but I do have a warp... I had the same experience last month when I used a sprint prl... when I first used the new prl my 3g speed was almost as good as my wifi... and after downloading a few games and apps my speeds dropped to only a few kbps... my guess is that we exceeded an invisible data limit of sorts and got throttled because my speeds returned back to normal a few weeks later

this is what exactly happened with me......and it makes sense....but i didnt even download anything......just checked the speed with speed net app a few times and felt good..... :p

its a kind of punishment from boost.....they dont want us to enjoy good speeds :)

Did you reverted back to stock PRL or still using sprint one????

i hope someone find a fix for that.....:D
 
update: i updated the PRL from my work place i got 61008 instead of 61007.
speeds improved a lot. i thought that was it. but today its again 8-25 kbps.
bottom line sprint's network sucks :)
 
My ultra is with boost and my 3g speed here in Orlando isn't too bad but wifi is always wwwwaaayy faster. Hate to think that the "unlimited" data that I pay an extra $5/mth for isn't really unlimited...
 
I was experiencing constant drop calls 10 seconds into the call and 28kbps downloads during the day. I finally called sprint and they are upgrading towers to the 4G lite. It just happened to be the tower near my home.

Oh and she said it wouldn't be finished until sometime in June. I don't know if she was talking about that one tower or the project as a whole.
