Data transfer from Galaxy S2 to LG G2

Hi,

What is the best way to transfer all my data (contacts/settings/pictures etc) from my old Galaxy S2 to my new LG G2 phone?

Thanks in advance

if you use the same Google account on the new handset as you did on the old one, most of these will be synced across. Device settings however won't, unless the new one is identical to the old, due to the risk of incompatibility issues.

Thanks for the suggestion but I've tried that but nothing seems to have synced using google. To be honest I can't stand all the google crap on androids and tend to avoid using it if I can.

Any other suggestions?

Contacts should sync without any problems.
Pictures, id upload them to a computer or the cloud then back onto the new phone.
Apps, google will back up like a list of the apps you had and download them automatically to the new phone when you log in but their data/settings will be lost. You could check out the Helium app and software to back up the apps properly.
As slug says, you cant transfer system settings and its something you really wouldnt want to do anyway

In the old phone's settings there should be an option you check to backup to google's servers but i cant remember where it is on samsung (on my phone its under Backup And Reset)

Nothing seems to have synced with Google? Which means you weren't syncing to Google before? Then you have to sync them now, do it via PC, or do them manually.

You could transfer contacts using MyPhoneExplorer on a PC, but I am not sure if it is still supported to recognize the newer phones.

If you're not prepared to use Google sync, then you'll have to export your contacts as a .VCF file, copy that to your new handset and import the file. Pictures can be copied to a computer and then to the new device, as suggested by Funkylogik.

If you want to transfer data from Samsung S2 => LG G2 try to use Kies. This software has been designed to be used only with Samsung devices but in the latest versions i've seen that you can use this software to make a backup from a Samsung and after that you could transfer it to a different phone
