Help data usage (mb)

i know im kinda new to all this android os
but when i am listening to my music via the player on the atrix it is using up my data MB so far i have used 17.32Mb ffrom my allowance of 500MB
is it me or am i doin something wrong

Not at all, your phone will use data of it's own accord, dependant on your sync settings. Is it def the music app that's using up data?

How are you measuring data usage? Look at an app called 3G Watchdog, it should give you an accurate breakdown of what's using data.
