Hey,
My evo suffered water damage. I was able to get the phone running and view the screen with androidscreencast. After a two days I was no longer able to boot it that far. Now when I hit power I get one vibration and thats it. Anyway, I need to send the phone back to asurion and want to ensure that my data is wiped. By holding down the volume down button I am able to get into the screen where i can choose fastboot, data wipe, and hbootusb. I cant see the options but using hboot I see the device in the device manager. Also when i select data wipe after a few seconds i get a vibration. Im a novice when it comes to android, so my question is can i somehow use hbootusb to wipe the data on my phone?
I would appraciate any help. thanks
PS, when screen cast was working i was able to initiate a factory reset but im not sure it went through, the screencast froze at "shutting down". Does anyone know if the data deletion occurs before the shutdown or after the reboot (which my have not occured)?
