Root Data++

I few Roms are available in DATA++ format. What exactly extra do they have and how does it compare to a2sd and d2ext?

Data++ is an alpharev hboot partition table that changes how Roms see the internal partition layout, in favour of a larger /data partition

Also the rom is supposed to be faster, as all essential parts are run from nand, such as the dalvik cache, as well as staying that way without becoming laggy over time. As for real life speed/smoothness I'm curious myself.

For the times I have dalvik on nand, Ive seen no increase in speed.

Class of my card the reason? Maybe

How much is the space gain achieved without any risk on shortage of other partitions (eg. cache)?

I strip the GV rom to 65MB (flashes to around 110MB there abouts). With cache of 25MB, I have data of 298. However, I have one problem, which is I cant download Cordy off the market as its 27MB.

Maybe you should inquire about the Baadnewz solution, they apparently have implemented some kind of automatically expanding ... what was the name....I'm getting old...."dynamically resizable ram-disk" . Sounds good :cool:

Very nice.
Even if I don't touch the cache, and I don't strip GV, I still should be able to allocate about 100MB to /data and get GV running.
Hmm, worth considering, but then first I need to be S-OFF... :rolleyes:

Look into it, its good.

Ive just tried redux. Its cut down but I cut it down more by cutting the same I cut out of GV.

Now /system 75, /cache 30, /data 333
