Database Error

I'm seeing them, too.

They seem to occur irrespective of site traffic or slowdowns; there was virtually nothing going on in most forums a bit ago when I refreshed the index page and encountered the DB errors.

Heh.. happening now, as I attempt to post this.
 
For the past week or so, I've been getting more and more "database errors" when attempting to access the site.

Could be me, but it seems to be increasing in frequency - dramatically.

I've tried different platforms, browsers and three different networks (home, work, 3G) - so I'm kinda sure it's a problem.

I don't believe it's NM's backbone, this is the only site with loading issues.
 
just got one, problem listed is

User xxxxx_xxxx (db username edited by me) already has more than 'max_user_connections' active connections

in particular this part

a) One of the hacks/pluggins you use in vbulletin might be bogging down the server with too many connections or by slowing down the server somehow. To make sure this is not the culprit make sure you disable too third party pluggins in your vbulletin admin cp and see if you still get the error or not.
b) A vbulletin default query might taking a long time to run, locking all tables during the run and while tables are locked, new MYSQL queries triggered by other visitors compiles and cause the error. If your post count is too many, you have a high traffic and default vbulletin searching is used frequently you can have this problem because database search in a crowded board is always a bottleneck which can cause this error.

Does the new forum app 'plug in' somehow? With an increased user base, if it can cause problems it will. Just a shot in the dark.
 
I'm sure there is plenty of proof of this already, but I have also been seeing these ever since I first joined. In the past week or so they have been getting more and more frequent. In fact, I think I've gotten this about 5 times already today, most recently 12:58 EST

OK, got a new db error message in the form of admin maitenane at 11:20pm est. I think it's an error since when I refreshed, AF loaded

I've gotten this a few times today too. Also, I just received the database error message most recently at 12:02 am EST.
 
Blue and white "we're working on it" message intermittent with the usual data base error, on both the pc and phone browsers.
 
I keep getting them myself.

What's happening to this site?
The ads are going crazy and the database errors have been off the charts today:(

Like other successful forum clusters, it may be outgrowing its server capabilities. I am not sure of that, just guessing.

The ads are an ongoing issue that the site owner has stated he wants resolved (it seems to be difficult to pin down the agency on each ad it runs).
