Date you ordered and received the phone vs. "will ship by" date

If there is a Fry's Electronics in your area, check them! I just got mine for 130 bucks in store with instant rebate!!! They had quite a few in stock and I live in a major city, Phoenix :)

any of you 6/5 orderers like me received a shipping notice? if so let me know please.

I'm a 6/5 and still waiting. I'll let you know if I see anything. It's good to see some 6/4's go out. We can't be too far behind! Keep us updated on your status as well.

The saga continues...
6/3 here. Just got a call from a Verizon rep regarding an email I sent in explaining that both my credit card company and the FTC found it unacceptable that there was an additional delay past the given ship date. The rep told me that the issue was, of course, not their fault, but HTC, and that the ship date was 'only an estimate', and there was the infamous 5 business day delay on ALL ORDERS through Monday. I informed the lady that no where in the "WILL SHIP BY" graphic on the phone did it mention the word "estimate". I mentioned that regardless, after taking payment, Verizon had 30 days to ship the equipment, period, or offer a refund. I also told her that I had seen on several forums that other people who had ordered after me had received shipping notices. She said there was no way for me to know that (...right, seriously?) She said "well at least you have a phone and it works" (did she just say that???...) at which point I kindly told her it was an old BB Curve (after going through 3 Storms) which more-or-less worked...but that due to the nature of my work, and the fact I needed decent access to the web via my phone, that no, the Curve was not acceptable, and neither was her attitude. I also requested some sort of credit to my account, considering that if I don't pay them in a timely fashion, they can interupt my service, but if they don't follow through on what they promised, there is no recourse. She informed me that was nothing she could do, and that I should receive the phone sometime after the 4th of July. I told her that this was unacceptable, and requested to speak to a manager, she told me she was the manager, and I told her I wanted to speak to her manager. Of course, that individual was not in, but will be calling me back within 48 hours.
At this point I stormed around the house for a few moments, and then promptly dialed *611...I wasn't done complaining yet...
So, I called customer service and unloaded the situation on a poor CSR who was truly clueless in all regards. He offered to give me a promotional 250 minutes onto my account. I asked him if he noticed that my account was unlimited. He said he saw that, but that was all he could do. I asked for his manager. Once the manager finally got on the line she informed me that the 5 day delay was sporadic (which we knew) and there was no way to tell which accounts would be affected. She also said that since my phone was supposed to have shipped by 6/25, my account had 'been affected' and gave me a credit for half off my next bill (for the line in question, only).

As I have said before, it's not so much the delay, at this point, which is irritating, but the complete inconsistency by Verizon to provide it's customers accurate, or even consistent information. I find it hard to believe that HTC is randomly sending shipments out, and unable to provide it's buyer, Verizon, with at least some sort of production and shipping schedule.
The carnival music continues to grows more frantic...
I suppose it could be worse... you could have to hold your DInc in a special way to have decent reception. ;)

Fellow 6/5'r here.. figured I'd call all my local stores to see if there was one just laying around (there wasn't). I spoke to a sales rep at one particular locations who insisted that he'd be able to get me a Droid X on July 1? I mentioned I believed it was July 15th but he insisted it was the first. Was he smoking crack or did they move it up and I missed it?

Why dont you give them a break the problem lies with samsung and the fact that they dont want to give out as many of the amoled screens for HTC because there new Galaxy phone uses it so its not really verizons fault that HTC was only using that screen. But they have decided to change screens and get everything back on track. Have you ever thought that it may be HTC thats hold up the boat not giving Verizon the info that they need.

Maybe they moved the release date up to damage control the DInc shipping issue currently happening...although I seriously doubt it. Imagine how many people would jump ship, though... the logistics would be mind shattering. You think Verizon is a circus now - imagine them handling 10,000 returns and cancellations over the course of a couple of days. DOH!

But even if there were 10,000 cancellations it would take even longer for us to get our DInc cause of them having to go through all of them

I still have 2 weeks. I'm halfway through my wait. And I broke my blackberry storm lastnight. I got mad at it for not working and it threw it off the third story balcony. It survived with minor cosmetic damage

I am well aware of the Samsung and HTC issue, and actually, no, they haven't changed displays yet. They have started testing DIncs with a STFT screen manufactured by Sony, but have NOT started mass production of these units. I've read different reports, however most seem to confirm that this production change isn't going to happen very soon.
I already stated that HTC was part of the issue - and as I said - you would think that regardless of how many screens are being manufactured for the DInc that all three of these big boy corporations, Verizon, HTC AND Samsung would know how to communicate with each other regarding what is and isn't being supplied. It's not like these are mom and pop companies we are dealing with here... and we, as consumers, should hold these companies to higher standards.

At any rate... I was able to find this info for anyone interested:
[Update] All right, ladies and gentlemen. We

That's awesome. I can completely relate. I actually have a new warranty-replacement Storm sitting on my desk after my Storm died one week after ording the DInc - but after going through the hassle of switching to the Curve while waiting for it to arrive, and not having near as many battery pulls and better battery life, I've decided to wait for the DInc with the Curve instead. I'm seriously considering death by firing squad for at least one of my Storms...or perhaps death by train tracks...or bulldozer...or....

Wait a minute... Why don't I give them a break????

Let me refresh your memory with a couple of your posts:

I'm a 6/4 and have been on this forums everyday at work for the entire day. I call into customer service 2x daily and just want my damn phone to get here. Until it comes I cant stop the urge to call customer service since I haven't gotten anything for shipping even when i upgraded the other lines on the account. Is there any help for my condition???

The suffer is over my phone has shipped hopefully the fat little Fed Ex guy gets it here before the weekend. Im a 6/4 its been fun in the insane asylum.

So, in summary, you were calling customer service twice daily prior to shipping notification..and as of right now your phone has already been shipped, if not received...and your telling me to "give them a break"???
And just for icing...YOU ORDERED AFTER ME....
"Give them a break...." ROTFLMAO ...seriously...
How is that glass house you live in?

To me, I think this whole sordid business can be wrapped up in one word.."inconsistency"!

Whether the issue lie with HTC, Samsung, Verizon or the man in the moon, the end user(Namingly US) are the one's left picking up the pieces. Everybody but us has been compensated already. Verizon billed me and most of you already..verizon more than likely has paid HTC for the orders and HTC has paid it's sources(i.e. Samsung) for the parts already and if they haven't, it's not our concern. The only one's with nothing to show for anything is we consumers.

I'm sorry but Verizon pointing fingers at HTC who is pointing fingers a Samsung who is in return, giving the finger to HTC who is giving the finger to Verizon who is now giving us the finger is unacceptable.

At this point, the problem is systemic for all people waiting for a Droid Incredible so Verizon should be prepared to offer consistent advice and reasonable options..cancel orders for a Droid X..a few free accessories..SOMETHING. but no, we are getting snooty attitudes and inconsitent blame games with a small amount of "you consumers are to blame because you ordered so many of these things that nobody expected this type of demand" thrown in for good measure.

We have every right to be irritated by this.

6/7 order here. I called again today and this time was told my ship date (originally 6/28) is likely to be 6/30 or 7/1, but most likely before the 2nd.

Based upon the way the CSR was talking to me, it was pretty clear he wasn't quite sure about the accuracy of what he was saying and was sort of winging it.

I also double-checked that if my DInc hadn't shipped, I could switch my order to a Droid X, obviously with the caveat that I wouldn't get the phone until its release date on 7/15. This time I was told NO, that cannot happen.

Um, OK. Hurrah for consistency issues.

Oh my, goodness me!
I saw an Incredible
In church this morning.

Perhaps someone was
Not paying attention to
Much of the sermon.

Perhaps, just like me,
He has waited umpteen days
And could hardly wait.

Or maybe he was
Listening intently and
Taking thoughtful notes.

Just got my order shipment email from Verizon at noon cental today.

Order processed 6/3
Shipped by date 6/24 Delayed
Shipping notice 6/27
Ship date 6/28
Standard overnight should have it by 6/29
Shipping to Northwest Indiana from Memphis

Bad news is I am in South Louisiana visiting family until Friday 7/2
The good news is I figured this would happen and had the phone shipped to my work location so I will have the phone this Friday, late afternoon.

The other good news is the Cajun food, party's and adult beverages that are part of the South Louisiana lifestyle have been awsome, even without my Dinc.

I wonder if the delay is because of an increase in demand (duh) . . . Tue 6/8 was the iPhone 4 announcement. Immediately after the presentation, I ordered the Incredible. I'd imagine several thousand other people did the same thing, after NOT being blown away with what Steve had to say.

I for one was hoping for some sort of "noticeably improved call consistency" statement. I didn't hear one, so I dumped my iphone and switched back to Verizon.

And, given the reception issues and the general jerkiness of the aforementioned Mr. Jobs, I'm glad I did.

Order date: 6/4
Date I was told I would have my phone by: 6/29
Date I received tracking email: 6/27
Fedex estimated day of delivery: 6/29

:)

OK, I got my shipping notice yesterday (6-26) I ordered on 6/2 and the estimated date for delivery is 6-29. My coworker ordered his phone on 6-16 and GOT his via fedex friday (6-25) WTH is up with that!!!!!! (and I know thats the date he ordered it cuz I had to help him do it). He orders a full 2 weeks AFTER me and still gets it first (and we live in the same town). I am quite upset. Maybe its because I ordered 9 of them... You would think they would be jumping up and down to make me happy.
