I have been following/contributing to two other forums for quite some time and recently found this one. From what I've read in the last few pages you guys seem more my type. Anyway, I'm a 6/8 order that has been given ship-by dates of 6/28, 6/30, 7/1, and 7/9. I have called VZ CS three or four times only to be disappointed and frustrated and I dial *611 in my effin' sleep just to see if the message has changed. For the love of God, all I want is to get my phone before the long holiday weekend.... Is that so much to ask?

Same here, 6/8, and told 6/28 and "early July." I'm going to make my 2nd call today and stir the soup a bit.
I've been on this thread for a few weeks now, and there is hope. Stay optimistic Porkupyne.

This will actually be my second replacement. They will give me an additional 15 days after I activate this phone to decide if I want to keep it. Had my original since the day it came out.

I've been a very good boy and only just made my 2nd call in 21 days. I'm a 6/8 with 6/28 ship estimate.

Just got off call with a sweet voiced woman who took my info and could not find an order with the order number they emailed me. Took a deep breath and listened. She put me on hold for about 6 minutes and came back and said that it should ship in a few days, BUT if I'm one of "those people" whose order was delayed (due to an unexplained reason), then I can expect up to another 10 days wait.
Aaaaaaaaaahhhhhh, all I can do is sigh.

Please give me reasons to not wait until Jan 2011 for the iPhone.

Another thing to consider is if you do not already have a data plan with your current phone, VZW may do a tiered data plan like AT&T has done for the release of the iPhone. VZW may grandfather in people who have the unlimited data plan before the iPhone is released.

Good points. I had thought of the data plan issue too. I just needed some hand-holding to get through my dinc wait. I like the simplicity and aesthetics of the iphone but really want the openness of the Android os, not to mention the better pricing too.
