Date you ordered and received the phone vs. "will ship by" date

i just spoke to VCS for the 5th time today and when you get it also depends on what part of the country you live in. The only problem is they can't tell what part of the country is and is not being affected.
 
Just as I was about to post to see if anyone wanted to buy the case, screen protector and chargers, and drop the order I got my email.

Ordered in store: 6/5/10
Supposed to ship: 6/26/10
Actual ship date: 6/29/10
Location: Southeast Arizona

Plus I got the email for $25 gift card. Man was I close to pulling the plug on the damn phone and waiting for a Samsung. The only reason I waited it out was because I had bought the accessories already.

I understand the accessory thing because I already got a Cradle, car charger, holster and 2 extended life batteries. Hell I've bought so much stuff at this point i don't even know where it all came from. But I am a little jealous but very happy for ya.

I've been checking email on my phone non-stop and i finally got an email regarding our phones from Verizon, but this wasn't a tracking number...

Here's the text of the email... anyone else get this??

Thank you for your recent order of the DROID Incredible by HTC. Due to overwhelming demand for this innovative device, we are currently experiencing inventory delays. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and are working to resolve this issue.
If your order shipping date was June 28 or prior, you may experience an additional delay of up to 7 business days. We will send an update with tracking information once your device has been shipped. If you have already received your device, please disregard this notice.

I just got this email as well. Got really excited for a moment, until I read the first few lines.

I have to say that I'm glad they are finally taking some responsibility. I'm fine having to wait an extra few days for the device, just TELL ME!

Oh well, guess I won't have it for the holiday to impress my family.

I guess in response to the topic about Verizon needing to notify people in the event your phone shipment is running late, they just sent me an email basically stating that "due to the overwhelming demand for this innovative device there are inventory delays.... If your order shipping date was June 28th or prior, you may experience an additional delay of up to 7 business days." Blah, blah, blah, we'll keep you up to date, and then apparently for my patience, they're sending a $25 Verizon Wireless gift card within two weeks. But... "If you have already received your device, please disregard this message." I just thought I'd post my $.02. I think my ship date was supposed to be 6/30, but I'm not getting my hopes up for good reason.

After posting, i see others got this also... I ordered online BTW

i'm in SE AZ also.. I ordered at the Sierra Vista store on 6/9 ..hopefully mine ships tomorrow like they said.

Your ship date was supposed to be 6/30 because they told me the same thing. I must admit the VCS has been nice though. The one I spoke to said she's been getting cursed out ever since the email went out. Stay strong my fellow 6/09er.
 
@Alfast yeah but we got each of ours for $100 each (after rebate), no activation fees, and our rep is going to credit our account for our first full month... I love amazon, but there's nothing better than working the reps at the store =)
 
I don't think 25's enough. They did have a "ship by" date, correct? Can't hurt to try for more. I know how the wait was and i received mine a week earlier than" ship by". You have to make the shitty CS work for YOU.
