Help days of the week order changed

can anyone help me with a minor but irritating issue, i updated my s4 to kit kat and ever since i did the days of the week order has changed on my clock app, when i set an alarm the week starts with a monday, when i should be sunday, i cant find how to change it, this may be a simple fix but i cant crack it, and its doing my head in.

on the S4 there is no calendar app, it has something called s planner and i have already set the start day to Sunday already, thanks for replying though
 
So did they remove the calendar app in Kit Kat?
I have the app in my S4, and have the option to set the beginning of the week day.

The Samsung version of Kitkat doesn't have the standard Android calendar, it's got Samsung's own S-planner instead. The OP was referring to the clock app, where you can set an alarm for a specific day or every day. This is where the first day of the week has changed with Kitkat, and can't be changed by the user. Might be a third-party clock and alarm app though, where you can change the first day of the week. Some people may even want Saturday to show as first day of the week.

I'm curious. Why might they?

In the UK, Monday is widely regarded as the first day of the week. After all, this is largely a Christian country and God rested on the seventh day, which is the Christian sabbath i.e. Sunday. If I were Jewish, I dare say I would regard Sunday as the first day of the week as Saturday is the Jewish sabbath (strictly speaking I know it's Friday evening to Saturday evening but who's counting).

I've never heard of anyone thinking Saturday was the first day of the week.

According to... The Days of the Week

"Muslims refer to Friday as their day of rest and worship because the Quran calls Friday a holy day or the “king of days”".

"According to the international standard ISO 8601, Monday shall be the first day of the week ending with Sunday as the seventh day of the week. Although this is the international standard, countries such as the United States still have their calendars refer to Sunday as the start of the seven-day week."
 
I would have thought that it would be up to the individual to be able to select which day they want as the start of the week.
After all android is supposed to be all about customisation & human beings like to be different or akward depending on your point of view. :D
