Help DE03 official sprint release?

Been running this for a few hours now. Installed without issue. Rooted, removed stock apps without issue.

The whole phone seems much quicker. Switching between home screens and opening the app drawer are much improved.

Pandora seems to be working like a champ! This is a huge plus for me.

GPS indoors seems to work decently well. It wasn't exactly right, but it wasn't way off for me either.

The only thing left to see is the battery life. I'm going to give it a full charge this afternoon and see how it goes this evening. From what I've seen so far, the battery dropped off to 50% fairly quickly (albeit with very heavy use, downloading and updating everything), but it's held there for a while now, even with intermittent use. We'll see how that goes. A full 14 hours or so with moderate use, and I'll be pretty happy.

and also on Twitter 15 minutes ago.

Anywho, how's it running? I assume it's a complete wipe and my mom will be ticked that she's lost everything (except the contacts, which are synced to google)
Haven't updated mine yet. Will do so when I get home later this afternoon.

@mrmojoz Haven't had a CDMA lock up in weeks (even with DD03 and CL14)... Been on DE03 for a full day and besides a few random resets (could have been apps that cause that one) no lockups, errors or issues...

Had one this morning, had it installed for all of 9 hours... The rest of it great so far though!

I am currently running dd03 rooted with joeys custom rom 2.1.3 I beleive, If I read correct I dont have to flash back to cl14, I can do this straight from dd03? Also what is the benefit of using the .tar file from sdx instead of the file off of sprints website (SamsungMoment_Update), lastly if I follow the dreze88's instructions above will I still have the stock email app b/c I do use yahoo? thanks all

Official Android DE03 2.1 with SDX custom recovery and BEYOND!

You have to do a full flash, but you don't need to go to CL14. the tar at SDX gives you recovery 2.1.3 or recovery 3.0.8 (your choice). And it does keep the stock email app..... follow those instructions to a tee and you'll be rocking.

I can't WAIT to get home and install 2.1!!!

I hope to god that this update lets me goto Sirius' website on the phone and listen to their online player (given that it requires Flash).

I have a feeling it won't but there's always that super small portion of our brain that's dedicated to hope...

In regards to whether you have to 'wipe' your phone with DD10 already installed, or what I'm wondering, "Do I have to reinstall everything?", I've found the following response on SDX. I've read through hundreds of posts, and haven't seen it other than here. Maybe I'm looking for the wrong thing, but someone plz verify this:

I'm with 2.1 DD10 right now. Updating to DE03 will wipe all apps and everything, correct?

Initially yes, but if you have recovery 3.0.8 you can do a Data Restore and everything you had will come back...
Apply DE03 from old SWupdater

than go from cpu>Start>Computer>your c or main drive>program files>Samsung Electronincs>Model>Binary> and take out what is in there and put Joey3.08 recovery in there
Than run the SWupdater let you Moment boot
Once it boots power down and go into recovery

apply Joey's v7 root or Noobls DE03 rom

reboot, than power back down and go into recovery

and you can do Data Restore (don't do a system restore)

and if you had a boot logo you can go Flash logo.png AND apply zip your fav boot anim all in one shot...

Someone pls verify this though. :)

Nothing looks wrong - once you've finished your flash, you can do the data restore in recovery 3.0.8 or 2.1.3 - that'll restore only your data (apps you installed, settings for those apps, etc.)

if you didn't do a data backup then you will have lost it

This will wipe everything. New phone basically.

Yep - hopefully he did a data backup so he can reapply.... though I didn't catch if he was already on 2.1 or not.... if not then sayonara.... I don't think a data restore from 1.5 to 2.1 would work too well - in fact I am 95% sure it wouldn't with the changes to the data partition

Now, this may sound like a stupid question, but has anyone come across a pdf file or some type of manual explaining all of the changes for the 2.1 version & how to use them?

so this update still has the lockout problem? Messing with my Mom's phone, and the network just shuts down at times. Can make calls, but no internet. I tried cycling airplane mode, and it worked once, but it takes FOREVER for airplane mode to come on, let alone come back off. Reboot fixed the lockout.

Seems like this should have been fixed with this update, correct?

My laptop has Vista Basic and Sprint site says it has to be Vista Home, Premium, Business, or Ultimate. I downloaded the update when I try to open the file it says it's not a valid Win32 application. HELP!
thanks.

@ Sir Ike The Sprint Tool is the download from the Sprint site...

Sprint Software Downloads - Smartphones - Samsung Moment with Google

The most important thing to do is make sure EVERYTHING is uninstalled - then reboot - then reinstall.

For me, going from the old CL14 updater to the new DE03 updater seemed to tweak my system pretty good. Driver conflicts (CL14 found the device on Com21 DE03 foud it on Com22...) made life fun and created the [DEBUG] SetupConnection error constantly.

I"m having the same issue and uninstalled at 6 times and nothing! Still get Debgug???and disconnected...what can I do?
thanks!
