Help Dead Samsung?

Hi guys! I've had my Samsung Galaxy S3 i9300 for around 6months now.
Recently, it's been switching itself off a lot, I've then had to remove the battery and put it back in to switch the phone on again.

Tonight though was a different story. I was sat watching TV with it in my pocket. I pulled it out to check the time and again, it was off. So, I did what I usually do, pull out the battery (I have to because otherwise it just doesn't respond) and then place it back in and then it began loading.

It went to the Samsung boot screen, then to the swirling Samsung logo, then it restarted to the boot screen again, then it suddenly switched off.
Now, I cannot switch it on again. It won't even charge. I've tried removing the battery. I've charged it off the mains and my Mac yet it doesn't respond at all. Not even the LED light is switching on.

I even tried a hard reset but because it isn't responding at all, that doesn't work.

Any suggestions on what the cause might be? I suspected a problem with the OS at first but since it won't even charge or even turn on at all, I'm suspecting a hardware problem.

Has this same thing happened to anyone else? Is there any possibility it might be fixable?

Thanks in advance.

Try someone elses battery. Or try charging the battery out of the phone using a universal li-ion charger. It could be the battery at fault rather than the motherboard.

Try removing your sim card and any sd card and turning phone on and see if it works at all. Could be a bad card dragging the phone down. if that doesn't do it then take it in for service.

Thanks for the replies guys. Only issue is the phone is rooted. Will that have screwed me over now in terms of warranty?

So was mine but my flash counter was 0. Did you do anything about your flash counter? Do you recall a red exclamation mark in the top right of the boot animation?

just to follow up on my last post, I forgot to mention I have tried already taking out the SD card and Sim card but even without them in it still isn't booting up. I'm going to try using another battery if I can. It's worth a shot I think :)

But, if it is a motherboard fault like suggested (and I think you're probably right about that), do you think there is anyway they would realize my phone is rooted? I can't see them swapping out my motherboard and booting it would they? They'd probably just use it for parts or something and send me out a brand new one or am I wrong about that?

Oh and just in case anyone is wondering, it isn't bricked from the root process. I've had it rooted since Jelly Bean first came out so it's definitely not an issue of it being bricked :)

Thanks again guys.

Actually no it doesn't have any red exclamation mark. Not sure if the flash counter has changed though. Although I never did do any modification to reset the counter :( I flashed it with what I think was called CF Auto Root.

I'm not sure if they replaced it or a component on it. Motherboard fault repaired with parts and soldering it said. Then a fresh flash of android.

I got triangle away but my flash counter was always 0. If you never had the red exclamation mark, yours too is 0, although if its as dead as mine not sure they can even check anyway.

Send it off. I think you're worrying over nothing, although its understandable as I did too.

Awesome. Thanks mate, that's put my mind at ease. I gotta admit, I always worry too much. Haha!
I'll send it off and see what happens. Hopefully they won't try and spike me with a crappy big bill...
