first thing im going to do (after its confirmed stable and all drivers, gps, wifi etc are working) i know 2.1 with sense is the first rom (hopefully) that will be loaded, and im transferring all my apps to SD!! :)

Not really making that Public yet...Once we get Root and find out that it is %100 effective, then of course this will all be made public :)

Ohhhh, I forgot. Once it's been rooted, we still have to wait for you guys to test it and all. Damn.
 
I cannot tell you how happy I am to hear this! I was getting depressed. My friend bought and rooted his moto droid right after and of course he had to show me! Thanks devs for all your hard work :0)

they found an exploit (i guess that is like the opening in which to shove things into) now they need to figure out how to get the ROM through the opening and load....

Excellent work all. Keeping my fingers crossed.

You know I was looking at all the cool things the rooted droid can do and found myself wanting to bring my eris back... I'm gonna hold out. If root is achieved we

1)never have to worry about 2.0 or 2.1 thanks to custom roms.
2)can uninstall all the crap that htc gave us
3)have the coolest little android phone on verizon (until the n1 :-\ )
 
Omg Omg Omg Omg..... I can taste it! Will this Rom allow multi touch? I hate trying to copy text that's larger than the screen.
 
LOL, Just a thought, ya think the boys at verizon have been watching for this and holding back 2.1 till this moment just to screw with everybody?:cool:
 
I realize the eris and hero are basically the same hardware wise, the only tweeking a hero rom would take is carrier info, right? if thats the case, there are already 2.1 roms out there just waiting......

The reason the iPhone was rickrolled was because it ran an SSH server with a default username and password. Anyone who knew the default user/pass could just log in and execute commands.
 
I'm snowed in for the weekend in the deep south (doesn't happen very often) so I'm just standing by awaiting that final 100% "we got it rooted" post.

LMAO...Some of our Devs I am sure will keep up all weekend...We even added another new very very experienced Dev today as well :)

You might now hear much from me this weekend, my girl will kill me if I am all over the forums during our Valentines getaway weekend!

But never fear, the moment anything happens i will post here and XDA :)
