Root Debating 2.2, few questions

I know these 2.2 threads are getting old but I have a few questions.

I've been unrooted for a while, but I want to flash 2.2, my only problem is I don't want to loose all my apps when i flash the rom. Is there anyway to keep everything when I flash 2.2?

Also, I'm not 100% sure I want to flash 2.2 yet, so I want to know if it is worth it. I really only want 2.2 for flash, and better battery life...are these benefits worth re-rooting?...and is the 2.2 leak buggy?

I appreciate any help I can receive on this matter

Once you are rooted, use Titanium Backup to backup all your apps, you can restore everything once you have flashed 2.2

Launcher Pro and ADW have their own back up to SD in their settings, I use that but TiBU might do it. I don't think you will be able to backup widgets - they'll just be blank and you'll have to replace them. Everything else should be there.

You can install Adobe Flash in 2.2, but better battery life I'm not so sure. Most people seem to be complaining (though IMO that means nothing and people will always complain about battery). But anyway probably won't be much worse if you're on stock 2.1. If you were on 2.1 running a kernel with a huge undervolt, maybe.

The leak is not buggy IMO.

I went ahead and flashed 2.2, pretty happy with the visual upgrades. Hopefully battery life wont suffer too much.

I am having 1 problem, however, my alarm clock sets the alarm for a week away when i want to set it for the morning...I had to get a 3rd party alarm clock. Anybody know if this is a known issue on eb01 for the stock alarm clock?

I have the same problem...is there a part of the forum that addresses this? EB01

Yeah, the alarm clock acts seriously wonky. I just have every alarm on daily (enable/disable when necessary), but maybe I should go third party.

The Samsung alarm clock is just so much prettier than all the AOSP-based apps though...

Just tried the AOSP Clock alarm built into Super Clean and I remembered why I don't use it: if you put the app into dim clock mode and turn the screen off, the screen gets stuck halfway off/halfway on and won't display anything more than a dim hint of back light until you battery pull.

One of adryn's less inspired additions to the ROM.
