Hi there... I have looked in to this before. What you need to do is get an unbranded (or HTC) version of Android on your phone. When I rooted my phone (on Orange UK), I had to create a goldcard, then downgrade to a non-carrier branded version that was rootable - this got rid of the "Orange" splash screens.

There are other ways to do it, using other programs... I'll see if I can find the link!

Here's what I found last time someone asked about this...

[Q] Removing the telus logo from bootup [Archive] - xda-developers

It says that flashing a custom rom will not remove the carrier splash screen, but flashing a generic HTC rom WILL remove them! That must be why I no longer have the Orange one!

It also says that, if you have ENG S-Off (which you would have got/can get when rooting), you can flash custom splash screens via fastboot - make sure that you have a FULLY charged battery when messing with stuff via fastboot... if you loose power when flashing radios via fastboot you can brick your phone!

(this is pretty much a copy and paste of what I have written in this thread - http://androidforums.com/desire-hd-all-things-root/347165-whats-next-guys.html - have a look at the thread, as it has a bit of other info you may find useful :)).
