I just finally rooted it yesterday, so I go to install and run titanium backup today, and it says it needs debugging on. Should I, and is it ok to leave debugging mode on all the time? Any reason I should be switching it on just for when I need it?

You are fine to have debugging mode on all the time. It is the first thing I switch on when I get a phone. There is really no reason I can see to ever switch it off.
