Decent modems Thread

[steeljack99]

got a decent modem that you think improves data speeds? post it here, i have done speed tests for a few modems and the best one so far for me was the EL26 modem, I made it into a flash-able .ZIP for you guys in case you want to try it, modems have different effects depending on where you live from what i understand. For me this was 2x better that the FL26 one that Virgin has for our phone currently.

here is the EL26 modem link

Can you flash it on to any Rom? I have the leaked Jelly Bean rom with super u. Will it work on mine?

I have had good results with GB27 from Rwilco12's Android Repository - Downloads

Speed is consistently good, the only issue I have is 4g occasionally disconnects/reconnects while I'm driving. It's only a problem when I happen to be streaming music.

GB27 doesn't even connect to 3G for me LOL

I think it has to do with the ROM you're using too, I'm using that modem on the touchwiz JB leaked ROM. I don't think JB modems play well with CM 10.1, and I don't know about ICS.

You need to use modems for whatever version of android your on.... if on a jellybean rom make sure to flash a JB modem unless the rom says you dont need to. I have been flashing sprint roms on my phone since I got it. A quick change of modems and maybe an apn adjustment and I was flyin high

I just tried FB15 on AOKP and got 3g speeds that get as fast as the 4g that I get.
