Deezer -storing music on external SD card?

H there,

I've been using Deezer and recently got a 32gb external SD card in order to store music on there instead. However Deezer only seems to store data on the main phone storage. Is there a way to get Deezer to use the external sd storage?

Thanks

I have my Deezer storing on the external SDHC card. Have a look at Settings -> App -> Change storage.

One thing it doesn't seem able to do is get "My MP3s" to find my own music collection which is also stored on the external card.

Hi, to play your MP3 tracks you have to first of all put them into your MP3 folder in your Deezer account. Using a PC/laptop just log in to your account, click on 'My MP3s' and a drag and drop window opens.
:)

Hello, is this for sure I've got galaxy s4 and it doesn't allow me to add the songs to sd ??

Just to say that I came across this SD issue on a Sony xperia, and have managed to resolve it fairly painlessly without rooting. In the actual Deezer app, in settings, there is an option to change storage settings. It says that you will lose all data, and you do. However, once you've requested this, and it has deleted all the music clogging up your phone, it then automatically downloads everything again to your SD card. Bit time-consuming and definitely better over Wi-Fi, but the end result is life as you were, and lots more space on your phone!

I just attempted this. It won't let me just drag and drop folders. I have to select tracks. It would take me an eternity to import all my tracks that way.

Thank you so much for sharing this information which I've been searching for a while. It really works. I appreciate it ;)
Btw, I created an account just to thank you :)

Hello - sounds good but in my settings in Deezer I cannot find the settings to change the storage settings - can you point me in the right direction? Thanks

This it's happening in most new devices too,
What really it's happening is that after the internal storage is full there is not way to save any more data to the external storage (Flash or SD card) it doesn't matters how much GB's it has it(16,32,64 or 123 GB's),
They're saling New devices with small internal storage knowing that the internal estorage really matters so becareful when all of you get a new device,
So probably it's what you noticed it but also some devices with low specifications (specs) tend to don't allow to transfer any data or apps to the external storage because those devices accesories are not compatibles or any other unknow reason,
Also they're cheating on internal GB's when shows it 1,2or 4GB's ,it shoud be the extra internal storage capacity to save any extra data on the divice, what they're doing is to use all those GB's to pre-install all those apps that are already on the devices and people think not like that, they think that the GB's on the device manual or box it's what they're going to get to be able to save any data they want it

No, what really is happening is that the default setting is to internal storage. A simple change of location in Deezer's Settings/App/Storage solves the issue, as explained in the post immediately prior to your one (and post #3 from over a year ago).

Google with Kit Kat has upped the security for SD external storage. Going into the settings - app - change storage, does work. Just remember uninstalling the app also deletes the folder on the external SD and all files contained within. That is what my device said when I changed the location where EbookDroid stores e-book files. LG Sunrise Kit Kat 4.4

ive been successful downloading playlists to play offline, but struggling with the 'my mp3s'. ive dragged and dropped music i own into 'my mp3s' (annoyingly just as single songs, i cant get them to save as albums), but even tho the grey triangle is there ready for me to turn green by downloading for offline use, theres no option to do this.

could anyone help me with this one please, or do i only have the choice of listening to my mp3s when im connected to the internet. this would seem weird if so.

thanks

Seems to work fine for me. Do you have a free or premium account?

Also, how are you adding the MP3's, via the web interface?

I have just got a micro SD card to free up space on my Xperia Z3. I did this and the first part happened (setting the SD card as the new storage destination, deleting my downloaded songs, albums & playlists) but the second part (automatically downloading everything again to my SD card) didn't. Is there something I'm missing or do I have to re-download all my albums and playlists?

I'm having exactly the same problem. There is no option available to download my own MP3s for offline listening. I'm using Deezer Premium on a Sony Xperia Z3. Any help much appreciated :)

yep, drag and drop. only gives me the option of one song at a time, and no folders able to be created afterwards, so any albums i have are just mixed in with everything as single songs. still no download option tho, songs can only be accessed/chosen whilst in online mode..... premium account btw.

talking of storage and SD cards...... i contacted deezer as my downloaded playlists freeze every few songs, they just stop and i have to fast forward til i find a song that will play, then same thing happens a couple of songs later....
deezer said uninstal, switch phone off for 30 secs, then reinstal. ive done this, then chose to switch the storage to sd card.
it seems to give 3 options of storage, as tho the sd card is split into 3 which is strange. i chose the one with the biggest free space, but the phone now stops downloading after about 25%.
anyone come across this? theres around 400 songs in the playlist, it downloads around 100, then when i go back to it its just stopped downloading. theres nothing i can do to restart the process.

this mean anything to anyone?

thanks

I asked Deezer via Twitter about this recently, also my move to SD always moves back to interact storage, thus was their response, 'Unfortunately, when it comes to saving music on the SD card we are restricted by music rights restrictions. The restriction of saving to an SD card is there to stop redistribution of downloaded content from one user to another.
