default action on dock / power

I use Gentle Alarm. At night, I put the phone into the Dock, the night time clock face shows. When I remove the phone from the dock, it goes back to normal. (the app is always running)

Then, I installed another application. somehow the default action for docking was lost.

I'm not sure what I did to try and resolve the problem, but here's where I am now:

I connect to the dock, and the clock face shows. -- all is good.
but, when i remove from the dock the clock face doesn't go away, i have to exit out of the program.

Also, when I plug into a usb power supply, the clock face shows.

How can I resole these issues?

I don't know the answer to your problem, but I had a similar experience with my USB port. After about a year of constantly plugging in to charge, it eventually wore out or something. When I connected it to the charger it would charge. When I connected to my computer, it no longer recognized USB mode and the Mass Storage mode would not work. All this used to work but in spite of by best efforts to re-install all the drivers and everything, my computer could not "see" my phone. It would recognize my wife's phone, who also has an Epic 4G. The problem wasn't resolved until I took it to Sprint and I got a new refurbished phone.
