Help Default browser sucking up RAM

My brother and I have the same eris 2.1 android phone and use the stock browser. After clearing cache, cookies, location and all the other things the browser setting allows you to clear my brother's browser is using 2megs while mine is at 7 megs.

The real question is how do I free up this 5 megs that my brother has free on his phone?

I don't want to do a factory reset. Did anyone write a program that goes in and cleans out this data set? History Eraser does not touch this area.

The side question is what is going on that the browser is writing and storing new data that I can't remove short of doing a factory reset?
