Default Clock

I have had the Motorola Droid for some time now and something that happens to me seemingly at random times is that the Clock app opens by itself it seems.

this usually happens when the phone if plugged into its charger either into the wall or on my computer. Sometimes while it's on the home screen the Clock app just appears, I figured it was a part of a sleep mode thing when it's plugged in but I cant seem to find any settings for it.

It's not that I dont want it to happen, I am looking for a way to control it.

Is it possible that you have it around a magnetic item when it does this? The Droid has a magnetic back toward the top of the device that puts it into cradle mode whenever something magnetic comes in contact with it. That may be the clock you're seeing.
