The JellyBean update is rolling out on S2... So I thought I would take another stab at an upgrade, but only if I can sort out my problem with Ice Cream Sandwich. I don't want every single contact in GMail to be shown in the phone (it can be synced, but not displayed!). (Refer default options in GB-screenshots, where "all other contacts" was not selected by default)
I upgraded to ICS, but there was no default setting (like there is on Gingerbread) to NOT display ALL contacts in Gmail. In ICS, I could only filter the view, and after closing the filter, it would show ALL contacts again. Also: ALL contacts are obviously available in the messaging app as well. So after upgrading to ICS, I downgraded to JB again.
So now my questions:
1. Has this issue been solved in the JB-version? Can I set a default to only show the "my contacts" group as synced with GMail? Or alternatively, only SYNC the "my contacts" group to the phone?
2. Is there an alternative app that provides this functionality? I.e. where I can set the default to only show "my contacts"?
