Root Default notifications/text notifications

As many people have noticed, if you have a ringtone on your sd card set as the default notification, all other notifications play this, no matter what they are set to. I've tried to use root explorer to copy from the sd card into the /system/media/audio/notifications folder, and it won't copy. Anyone have any ideas? I don't know if putting them into that folder would make them operate properly, but I was trying!

ok, managed to get a custom notification copied into /system/media/audio/noifications. it plays fine in root explorer, astro, etc from that location. however, when you try to select it in settings/sound/notification ringtone, it plays the default sd card notification sound. i guess the only option is to use a factory tone for notifications, and change all the other ones.
