Help Default SMS App not showing all text

OK so I have a Galaxy S7 Edge on Vodafone, and as Facebook Messenger can now be used as a default SMS app, I thought I'd give it a go as I can message on Facebook at the same time.

My issue is that I can receive texts perfectly fine on Vodafone's "Message+" app but my phone does not notify me from the Facebook Messenger at all and doesn't show the text. I end up having to keep going back to Message+ to reply to any text I get.

I have looked at other SMS apps and they're all the same. I only get 'some' of the texts coming into my phone.

Anyone have the same issue or got any pointers as to what I can do?

Not really that familiar with FB Messenger but did you actually set it as the default SMS app?

I base that thought on past SMS apps I have tried and all have asked me to set it as the "default sms app".

Mikestony nailed it. Make sure the notifications are not set to Block in Apps & Notifications inside your devices settings.

Yeah, It's all set to default and double checked the notifications, still not getting anything on the other apps. Thank you for the help anyway.

Best bet is to remove the messenger (clear the apps cache before doing so in the Apps section in Settings) and re-install it. If you have done this, try to reboot your device.
