Help Defective battery?

you should power phone off and pull battery, wait a bit then put battery back in and charge while off to see how it reacts.....

UPDATE:
I pulled the battery and that seemed to fix the problem BUT now I have a new problem. Last night I powered down the phone with approx 80% of the battery charged. This morning, the phone would not power on. This is the second time this has happened. So I plugged in the wall charger and the yellow charging light came on but it took about 20 seconds. At this point I powered on the phone and the charge indicator (top right of display) showed a half charge. In other words, the battery should have had enough juice to turn the phone on.
Oh well, seems as if not many people are having this problem judging from the replies to this thread so I'll give VW a call.
Since I bought the phone on Amazon, will VW help?

+1 - Sounds like more than the battery is fishy.
yeah so I went to the vw store today and explained the symptoms to some guy who didn't seem interested and he said that apps will run down the battery overnight and I said well that's great but how would they do that if the phone was powered off??

Anyway, I have a new battery to try out. I'll update if it worked or not. And for the record, I believe something is wrong with the phone's charging circuitry = not a battery problem.

I bought the phone in December. I'm hoping it's just a bad battery as I don't want a refurb. Fingers crossed.
I have refurbish rezound because I was having some terrible time with my battery. All of sudden, my phone with extended battery, would use about 1% for just 5 minutes of music, and music alone. But the refurbish that I got is perfect and have no problems with it what-so-ever. I easily use over a day using the phone heavily. I use 4g, watch youtube and movies, and listen to music for hours.
